Why MyCo exists.
Gavin and Austin have spent years participating in communities around the country and building communities of their own. Along the way, they experienced something powerful: when people feel like they belong, their lives change.
At the same time, they noticed a challenge. Many communities are built around a single person, a single event, or a single vision. Resources are often guarded, opportunities aren't always shared, and collaboration can take a back seat to ownership.
They wanted to build something different.
Something long-term.
Something sustainable.
Something rooted right here at home.
A community where people could share resources, experiences, opportunities, ideas, and relationships freely. A community where the success of one member strengthens the whole network.
Originally, the vision was called “Mycelium”—inspired by the vast underground network that connects and nourishes entire ecosystems. Just as mycelium helps forests communicate, support one another, and thrive together, the goal was to create a community built on connection.
Eventually, the name evolved into MyCo. It kept the spirit of mycelium while taking on a deeper meaning:
Not because it belongs to Gavin or Austin.

MyCo exists to be a modern third space—a place that isn't work and isn't home, but somewhere in between. A place where people can show up as they are, meet meaningful people, discover opportunities, share what they have to offer, and feel connected to something larger than themselves.
At its core, MyCo is built on a simple belief:
